Three Apples

Mary performed yesterday in the Three Apples Storytelling Festival. O and I went into Boston, where on Newbury Street O bought a Betsey Johnson dress. We stayed the weekend in Bedford as guests of LAG- and MK. LAGK was born in Oklahoma, MK in South Africa; they have three children, K, N, and A. We also met LAGK’s mother, Mrs. K, and the au pair, C. Since we were unable to attend Mass at the local parish church, Saint M’s, I announced that we would tell people that we stayed with Saint M. On our way home this rainy Sunday we passed through Concord, but only stopped at the North Bridge and Minute Man Visitor Centers, crossing the bridge near the first to see the Daniel Chester French’s Minute Man Statue (eyeing the Old Manse), and taking in the multimedia presentation about April 19, 1775 in the second. After the presentation, a visitors center employee told us a little about the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, founded by Hawthorne’s daughter, Rose Hawthorne Lathrop.
